Abstract

In this study, CFRP repair method using VaRTM technique is proposed for angle steel with the simulated corrosion. Full-scale cyclic horizontal loading tests were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the repair method in restoring the structural performance of the member. The results show that the proposed CFRP repair method using VaRTM technique effectively restored the structural performance of perforated angle steel with simulated corrosion. Furthermore, the design approach mitigates early debonding by ensuring that the plastic hinge position is avoided from the CFRP adhesive zone.
