Abstract

In recent years, there have been movements to consider traditional houses as local resources which are used for revitalizing the region. Under the movements, we aim to establish a renovation method of traditional houses with friendliness to design and environment factors. In this paper, at Maezawa magariya village in Fukushima prefecture, we conducted a survey of winter living conditions of the residents and measured winter indoor thermal environment of traditional houses. In addition, we simulated the thermal environment with modeled traditional houses and compared them with simulation results in our previously published report.
