Abstract
This study is written about the situation and process of shelters after Turkish earthquake 1999. The characteristic of post-quake life is that residents used tents on a long-term basis in a temporary evacuation places. Tents being supplied can be mainly divided into three categories. 1 Tents or barracks built by individuals and located nearby original housings. 2 Tent villages that are approximately over ten units or hundred units built in parks or next to public facilities and are under public life. 3 Army or public sector provided a lot of tents on the public space. The temporary-housing supply plan has three characteristics, which are : 1 Great scale temporary housing cities are constructed. 2 Temporary-housing plan is made with consideration of community facilities including building arrangement plan, primary schools, shopping streets and etc. 3 Various temporary-housing supplying plan.
