POST-QUAKE HOUSING RECONSTRUCTION FOR TAIWAN EARTHQUAKE : Real state of housing reconstruction after one and half year

Abstract

After Taiwan Earthquake took place, until March 2001, housing recovery for Taiwan Earthquake has entered reconstruction stage. This paper aims to identify the real state and problems of housing reconstruction by analyzing the interview of public agencies and data collected. To solve problems of housing reconstruction concerned with land rights, laws and capital, re-measuring land registers, amendment of reconstruction laws, and raising of social rebuilding funds are used as measures for housing reconstruction. In the future, it will be necessary to build database by undertaking investigation of sufferers.
