Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify a method and a present state of the townscape improvement activity in Omote-machi, Tochio city Niigata, that is improvement of Gangi-street operated by a collaboration of its residents and students of Niigata university. The fact that the activity gives merits to both participants, residents in Omote-machi and students, supports to continue the activity every year. As a conclusion, this study points out the tasks of the activity as below, 1) to share a process of construction among students, 2) to increase a number of liaison between residents and students, 3) to make the system that guarantees a quality of students' product.
