Abstract
As the urban conditions of larger cities have been dramatically changed since 1960's, the educational programs of urban design have responded to them flexibly. Now, we have to grow more specialists who can cover wider environmental issues and the urban design studio can be one of the most effective opportunity to educate them. This study compares the urban design studios in three graduate schools in US and Japan on the same site in Tokyo, which were executed concurrently, and clarify the relationship between the differences of the curriculum system and the ones of the finel result.
