Interests in floating architecture have been increased as a solution against insufficiency of national area, and with concerns on leisure and travel. Because the floating architectures are surrounded by ocean, ocean energy like thermal differences, wind, solar voltaic et al. can be useful to save the building thermal loads. Among various ocean renewable energies, ocean thermal energy is estimated as stable and limitless. But the conventional ocean thermal exchanger cannot be applied to floating architectures because the floating architectures have characteristics of floating and moving on oceans and/or river at every seconds. The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate an ocean thermal exchanger to save the heating and cooling loads, which is optimized for floating architecture that has characteristics of floating and moving on the ocean.
