Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the regional difference of the life expectancy at birth in Nagano prefecture in 1985, 1990 and 1995 and to reveal the factors that lie behind the regional difference in the life expectancy at birth in Nagano Prefecture. The life expectancies at birth of the secondary medical areas were calculated from the life expectancies of each community(Shi Machi Mura). Some regional differences were found out according to the life expectancies of the secondary medical areas.
