Abstract
This study considered conservation of rice terraces in Okayama prefecture. As its main contents, I investigated the characteristics and its factors of their abandonments/devastations of rice terraces, and searched conservation of them. As a result of this study, I think the following significantly. (1) control of uniting. (2) practice of settlement activities. (3) respect of landscape. (4) tradition of water use, and keeping it up. (5) tourism resources and so on.
