Study on locational tendency of place-name of 'Hinata' and 'Hikage' in Nagano

Abstract
'Climatological place-name' means the place-name which have the Chinese charecter associated with climatological facter. In this study, 'Hikage' and 'Hinata' in Nagano prefecture was investigated. "Digital Map 25000 (Geographical Names & Public Facilities) is used for the analysis of the location on 'Hinata' and 'Hikage'. "Digital Map 50m Grid (Elevation) is also utilized to examin the geographical characteristics on the location of 'Hinata' and 'Hikage'. To be more precise, direction of dip, angle of gradient, shade of dericking geography are calculated. The results are summarized as follows:1) The number of 'Hinata' in Nagano prefecture is 52, and that of 'Hikage' is 30. 2) Frequent direction of dip on 'Hinata' is South, but that of 'Hikage' is not North but Northwest and Northeast. The latter depends on the location in Nagano Prefecture.3) The angle of gradient of 'Hinata' is larger than that of 'Hikage'. 4) The shade of dericking geography of 'Hinata' is brighter than that of 'Hikage'. 5) Three province of the climatological place-name are extracted in Nagano Prefecture; the first one is the Northwestern part, the second one is the Southern part, and the third one is Eastern part.
