100 remarkable geosites: Earth heritage in Japan

Abstract

"Daichi no isan" is a geosite, geoheritage, or Earth heritage in Japan, and single and several ones compose a geopark. "Geo" of geoparks means not only geology or earth sciences, but also means the results at the whole earth surface including natural and physical environments, human environments, and human activities themselves. This is a Japanese version of the Earth heritage of UNESCO.
