Abstract

Yangon is mega city of Myanmar, and is still now economic and cultural center after retired the metropolitan city. Hmawbi Township is one of the expansion of Yangon Division and has been rapidly changed the land use because of population presser of the former mega metropolitan city and economic role. Hmawbi Township is composed of four wards including forty-two villages. Based on the relief structure, this township is divided into Mt. Bago continuing hilly place in the east and low-alluvial plain in the west. Land use change is common in Myanmar, but considering sustainable development, rapid land use change is making natural environmental problems such as natural disaster occurrence.
