Abstract
This paper shows the city plannning of Maizuru, one of Japanese Naval-Base city, after the 1990's. In the end of the 1980's, some citizens found that the red-brick buildings in Maizuru built by Japanese Naval before 1945 had some kind of the power changing the city image which had been represented as the Gray because of the experience of the port of repatriation. They tried to use them for making the new city design. This attempt has been a success, but, on the other hand, it shows clear of the problem of the image of Maizuru derived from Japanese naval-base.
