Examples of Geoparks in Kyushu

Abstract

Three geoparks (Unzen, Aso, Kirishima) in Kyushu are national parks with the volcanoes and gather
many tourists. However, the tourist cannot understand what is a geopark becausethese are existing the sightseeing spots. Therfore I discussed the need to he viewpoint of the geoecology for the explanation of the geosite and landscape of the geopark. I emphasized that the setting of a geo-route and geo-trail was important to clarify the characterisyic of the geopark.
