Abstract
Field survey and air-photo interpretation revealed that the liquefaction damages were occurred in many places in the Tone River lowland induced by the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake. Most of these sites are located on former river channel, recently filled or reclaimed land, backfilled land of canal, natural levees and backmarsh. These sites were reclaimed by dredging soil during 1950 and 1970 due to the increasing food production and cultivation.
