Abstract
Mountainous areas in Japan have been suffered from out-migration, rapid aging and decay of forestry. In these areas, we cannot ignore of a problem of forestry revitalization. Here the author makes much of (1) rationalization of forestry, (2) forest management and (3) sustainability of regional life. At last he offers some materials to consider the problem based upon his research at Germany or Nichi'nan town, Tottori prefecture, Japan.
