Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the regional characteristics of population change, and the sustainability of local communities in mountainous region. For this analysis, the author draw on the findings of a case study conducted in mountainous region communities in Kuni area, Nakanojo-machi, Gunma Prefecture.
