Abstract
This study examined the residential mobility in the Tsurukabuto New Town, Nada ward, Kobe city after 1969. Specifically, it analyzed a change in the degree of residential mobility chronologically, connecting this with the social and economic situation, furthermore, comparing these by building environment. Another purpose of the study is to clarify the history of the residents, focusing on the first generation inhabitants. As sources to examine residential mobility, here modified housing maps were used. In total 1,120 apartments were surveyed. In addition, interview with long-term residents and research of their life course up to the present were done.
