colored topographic maps of kanto region at 1:20,000 were surveyed in 1880s, following "military survey regulation"which its drafters drew up consulting some textbook of french artillery and engineering application school, according to its introduction. however this book has been unknown. i found its corresponding textbook of the school: "cours de topographie" with a similar colored map model etc. by a. lehagre in the national library of france.
