Abstract
Mongolia has an extremely continental climate, with harsh winters. Under these conditions, pastoral husbandry has been a major industry for millenniums. Herders move with their herds for grasses and water supply. Moreover, they move away from natural disaster threats, such as droughts and dzud (cold and/or snowy winter disaster). The aim of this study is to investigate the knowledge that herders have of pastoral husbandry with regard to seasonal moves.
