Abstract
The role of the urban space should be analyzed, concerning the case of “Tacheles" in the former East-Berlin. Tacheles, pioneered by the East German people 1990, is in the second wave of squatting movement, which was seen within the context of social changes and the political power vacuum. As the others, Tacheles had also created "free space (Freiraum)" for art. Tacheles is still survived, while changing the actors of movement. Tacheles is nowadays one of the famous tourist atraction in Berlin, and also becomes symbol of "Anti-gentrification" movement, led by the citizens in the context of rapid changes in urban structure.
