Abstract
This research is a case study of education for sustainable development (ESD) with Regional alliances education. The research reveals the status of environmental education initiatives across the region at Notogawa-minami elementary school district, Higashimi-shi, Shiga Prefecture. Also, it examines the impact giving to each other that relationship between the school and the local community. The school has a role as a center of environmental education in the region. That is the school possesses a function as a center of community regeneration and responsible for the maintenance in the region.
