Abstract
In recent years, Beijing City, has experienced rapid urban growth and massive rural-urban migration. Urban villages can be found mostly on the fringes of cities that have experienced significant expansion and received large numbers of migrant residents. This paper is based on a survey questionnaire for the migrant residents in Pingfang village,Chaoyang district of Beijing. It focuses on the characteristics and social network of migrant residents and aims to clarify the mechanism of housing choices by those residents.
