Abstract
The aim of this study is to explain the regional characteristics of a historical landscape in Mochizuki post town on the Nakasen-do in Saku City, Nagano Prefecture. The viewpoint is the historical changing processes of Mochizuki as a post town. To consider the purpose, we run a survey and gathered data by visiting the local city hall and a NPO in the study area, and analyze the spatial distribution of landscape elements, the maintenance consciousness of the owner for the historical buildings and the efforts by the residential organization.
