Emergence of largely merged municipalities and their regional policies and spatial management

Abstract

This presentation deals with emergence of largely merged municipalities by Heisei pro-merger policy of municipalities. In this presentation, these topics, as below, are discussed; 1) emergence of largely merged municipalities, 2) urban characteristics of largely merged munmicipalities and regional policies, 3)agendas on how we should administrate and manage these local and largedly merged municipalities.
