Abstract
This study analyzes the formation of an ethnic district in Shin-Imazato, Ikuno Ward, Osaka City. This area originated from Hanamachi, or a fleshpot, and it saw the rapid increase of Korean-style nightclubs after 1990. Notably, the land transfers between the former residents of Hanamachi and old-timer Koreans have played a crucial role in the concentration of these nightclubs. Additionally, the establishment of such drinking venues has resulted in the influx of Koreans, who seek employment as workers. This study aims to verify these facts based on land registration data.
