Rockslide deposits found from glaciated Tambosawa Basin, the east face of Mount Tateyama, the northern Hida Mountains, central Japan

Abstract

Large landslides such as rock slides are important geomorphic processes for building high-relief mountains.  In this presentation, we describe rock slide deposits beneath presumed glacial sediments in the Tanbosawa basin, the Hida Mountains in central Japan.  Rock clasts with jigsaw structure, a diapir-like uprise gravel layer, high-angle shear surfaces all of which are common in rock slide deposits are described.
