Abstract

We tried a trenching survey to excavate geological evidences on recent faulting in the southern segment of Jordan Valley Fault zone(JVF) along the Dead Sea Transform fault. The geological structure which were exposed on these trench walls, have evidenced that JVF is clearly active also in the Holocene and had caused at least three faulting events in the latest 5000 years. This result is consistent with the findings obtained at the our 2010 survey in the 40kmnorth trenches.
