Abstract
New attempts to promote geopark activities have been made through including a Geopark perspective into both school and social education. The goal of these attempts is to increase understanding of the relationship between the Earth and humanity among local people including children with an emphasis on sustainability. In addition, these activities should encourage children to join geopark activities as adults, maintaining the sustainability of the Itoigawa Geopark by fostering future generations of human talent. This paper will introduce the activities introduced in school and social education in order to realize a sustainable regional society through the Itoigawa Geopark.
