Abstract
Dating depositional age of alluvial fan deposits themselves is advantageous, in that it is feasible to crosscheck results of previous dates (cf. Tephra) and contribute to accurate and precise age estimation. In this study, we present estimation of depositional age of alluvial fan deposits using OSL dating (pIRIR dating), western Tokyo, Japan. pIRIR dating is feasible to estimate the appropriate depositional ages of the Tachikawa gravels. pIRIR dating indicated the deposition of the buried gravel under Tachikawa terrace (Ome gravel) began at least about 240 ka ago.
