Abstract
The 3rd UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (WCDRR) will be held from 14 to 18 March, 2015 in Sendai. In this presentation, the author will introduce the activities of geospatial communities and geographic academies to make participants of WCDRR, such as delegations of governments and representative of international organizations, understand the vital role of geospatial information for all the stages of disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and reconstruction, and demonstrate the importance of geographic approach for disaster risk reduction, and the results of the Conference, including the contents of adopted framework document.
