Follow-up survey of Iwate engan kochimei kou

Abstract

This paper discusses whether tsunami-related place names can deliver lessons from past disasters to that location. For this purpose, field survey following up "Iwate engan kochimei kou", a list of tsunami-related place names collected about one hundred years ago, is conducted, to examine how tsunami-related place name survived.
