Abstract

•Heat island is studied in Iida
city, Nagano. Screen level temperature distributions in and around a city area were observed by
an automobile travelling method and temperature distributions above a city area
and lapse rate distributions in
and around a city area were observed
by data loggers
and radiation shields of
two height levels fitted up fire 9 watched towers and a building in and around
a city area. The results show that orchard and paddy field temperature is lower
than urban area temperature and orchard
and paddy field lapse
rate is larger than urban area. Temperature distributions
above city area are simpler than screen level temperature distributions. The difference of
rural and urban in lapse rate caused heat island.
