Abstract
Agricultural output is changing from the end of the last century in New Zealand, and its tendency is remarkable in wine production. It lays in higher latitude than producing district in the Southern Hemisphere, and the background of the viticulture is clarified by the climate. In central Otago, there are canyons of Kawarau, Cromwell, and Roxburgh, and basins of Gibbston, Bannockburn, and Alexandra. By fixed point observation and move observation, temperature and illumination are observed, and the position are recorded with the GPS camera. Alexandra has a winery at the southernmost tip in the world. Viticulture places spread in the basin. The place is warm and dry, and its appearance may be considered as follows. 1) It is in a basin and cold air does not invade. 2) The circumference is a ground of hilliness. 3) It lays at low altitude. Central Otago is on the east side of Southern-Alps, and the dry and warm air which across the mountain range blows there.
