Abstract

Geography is one of the natural science subjects in Finland, so the author assumes Geography would have STEM elements in the lesson content. To clarify what STEM elements the lesson content of Geography can include, the author observed 30 Geography and Biology classes in three upper secondary schools in three different cities. The research shows that Geomedia is included in all geography classes and even in some Biology classes. Students regularly use PC to research to make a report or a presentation for the individual/ group work and to practice for the matriculation examination, which includes questions related to math.
