Abstract
This presentation introduces “Living Forest Regeneration Project” in 6 villages of Dhaulagiri District in West Nepal, carried out by The Institute for Himalayan Conservation (IHC), supported by JICA Partnership Program (2010~2016). Fieldworks have clarified the scale of plantation area, planted species, forest product utilities, and awareness survey of each project sites. This study shows that the project has brought about local subjective works and decision makings for transplantation activities based on establishment of local nursery and forestry committee. Therefore, the project was being one of model cases for an agroforestry program contributing to both income generation and environmental conservation.
