Abstract

Rural areas of Japan have many problems due to the depopulation. In recent years, these problems have been seen in cities, and trial and error to solve the problems have been repeated in each local government and the national government. On the other hand, there is increasing momentum to solve the issues by the residents themselves. Unlike local autonomous organizations such as the neighborhood association, network-type regional management organizations are being built in various regions with the initiative of residents and for regional management. The purpose of this research is to examine the process of establishing regional management organizations and find out those regional significances.
