Abstract

In this study, we created a new climate classification of Japan based on cluster analysis, utilizing the meteorological elements that have not been used before. In addition, we investigated the dependence of climate categories on indices and the number of categories. The climate classification created in this study is consistent with Köppen's climate classification, distinguishing between Hokkaido and Honshu. While no Setouchi or inland climates have emerged, climatic zones have emerged from the Tokai region to the Pacific Ocean side of Kyushu.
