Effects of pollution on agriculture and rural households in craft village-case study of Tu Dan, Khoai Chau, Hung Yen, Viet Nam

Abstract

Craft villages are the unique characteristic in rural areas in Vietnam. It is clearly that they play an important role in rural social economic development, which provide jobs, increase the household incomes, quality of life. However, the development and expansion of craft villages put environment at risk. This presentation aims to clarify the effect of environment pollution on agriculture aspects and rural households in Tu Dan commune. We found the serious effects on labour and human health which result in the loss of labor time and productivity reduction. Moreover, agricultural production, agricultural land also was affected by this issue.
