Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of clarifying the causes of and responses to disasters in railroad transportation, focusing on the efforts made by various transportation organizations and local governments, as well as their problems, using the damage and recovery process of railroad transportation in the surrounding areas caused by Typhoon No. 19 in 2019 as a case study. As a result of the research, it was understood that the state of public transportation, including railroad transportation, is in need of a drastic change from the existing state, both in terms of industry and public transportation policy.
