Collaboration with society and dissemination of information through disaster response as the Geographical Society of Japan

Abstract

The Geographical Society of Japan establishes a disaster response headquarters in the event of a large-scale disaster, and is responsible for (1) responding to inquiries from various quarters, (2) exchanging information with other academic organizations, and (3) promoting geographic research. We have been disseminating information from a geographical perspective. Particularly in relation to ``General Geography'' in high schools, there is a need to disseminate accurate information. In order for the academic society to continue to improve its disaster response efforts in the future, it is necessary to proactively work towards motivating young researchers to actively engage in disaster research.
