Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the role of social emotional learning and self-efficacy in students' Problem-focused coping. The subjects of this study were 97 preclinical students from the faculty of medical education study program at one of the universities of Jakarta. This study used a correlative quantitative method, the measuring instruments of which were the Social Emotional Learning Scale, the Self-Efficacy Scale, and the Problem-focused coping Scale. The results of a number of regression tests show a value of R = 0.558, a determination coefficient (square R) of 0.311 and a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05) with a standardized beta coefficient of social emotional learning of 0.438 and a standardized beta coefficient of self-efficacy of 0.219. These results show that social, emotional learning and self-efficacy together play a role in Problem-focused coping in the preclinical students of one of the study programs at the University of Jakarta's Faculty of Medical Education.
