Abstract

Patient: A 54-year-old male visited our department complaining of pain in the upper right incisor. The upper right lateral incisor was extracted due to a root fracture. He did not use his removable partial denture due to discomfort. The patient was diagnosed with masticatory disorder due to missing maxillary incisors, bilateral molars, and mandibular left premolar and molar, and masticatory function was restored by an implant-supported fixed prosthesis.

Discussion: In this case, the patient was very uncomfortable when wearing a removable prosthesis, and the use of a fixed implant-supported prosthesis for multiple tooth defects was highly satisfactory for the patient.

Conclusion: It was suggested that implant treatment for a partially edentulous maxilla and mandible was effective for oral health-related quality of life.
