Abstract
Patient: A 61-year-old woman presented with the chief complaint of difficulty in chewing caused by unstable dentures and esthetic disorder caused by inadequate prosthesis. The third molar in the right mandible and second molar in the left maxilla were single-standing teeth with high mobility. This patient would have been classified as Eichner C1 if these teeth had been extracted. To avoid such a situation; instead, copings were worn on those teeth to provide occlusal support by distal extension partial dentures.
Discussion: Frequent follow-up and denture relining at the proper timing result in good oral functions and are very important to maintain a satisfactory condition.
Conclusion: Good supporting occlusal force and high satisfaction were achieved. Preserving teeth support by coping of the teeth under the free-end saddle can strength the support of occlusal force and contribute to the patient’s satisfaction.
