Patient: A 69-year-old female presented with a chief complaint of masticatory disturbance by oral mucosa pain beneath the dentures. The patient had no vertical stop by her remaining teeth. After improving the chief complaint by treatment of the dentures, recovery of function was attained by a removable partial denture with preprosthetic treatment.
Discussion: In this case, the denture was made with a rigid support that was established by a precision retainer with rigid connection. Increase of denture support was obtained by using functional impression to the residual ridge, contributing to the success of both objective and subjective evaluations of treatment effect.
Conclusion: Denture planning with proper support and retention for removable partial dentures was found to result in a good prognosis for this case with non-vertical stop occlusion.
