Patient: The patient (82 years old, female) visited the hospital with the chief complaint of mobility of anterior teeth. Esthetic and masticatory disorders were resolved by a telescopic denture in this case. She was categorized as Kennedy class III, Division I. In the initial treatment, the periodontist extracted hopeless teeth and provided a denture immediately. The provisional denture was then reshaped to make an image of the final solution. After insertion, she made satisfactory progress.
Discussion: The selection of a telescopic denture facilitates treatment when problems such as secondary caries occur, and supports a good prognosis after insertion of the denture.
Conclusions: Treatment for missing teeth in the maxillary anterior region with a telescopic denture was suitable to resolve esthetic and masticatory disorders, and showed good prognosis.
