Abstract

[Introduction]

Solar cooker is known as a cooking device that can be use without electricity for boiling and cooking in areas with poor infrastructure or during disasters. However, they were expensive, required a large space, and required specialized knowledge, so they were not used on a daily basis by the general public. Therefore, we have developed a new solar cooker and special cooking container that anyone can easily use, and present it as an environmentally friendly cooking method.

[Materials and Methods]

The concept behind the development of this product is to make it safe, inexpensive, take up little storage space, tasty, highly functional. In order to create solar panels inexpensively, we used the middle frame of a plastic umbrella. The panels are made of aluminum for retort pouches, and the one-eight parts are heat-sealed in a parabolic shape. The cooking container is also made of retort pouch material. It was designed in a donut shape to prevent burnout to focus and to be wrapped around the stick of an umbrella. The bottom of the cooking container is placed on the plane containing the parabola. It is equipped with a steam release mechanism to prevent it from exploding when boiling, making it safe.

[Results]

When 200g of water was placed in a container and heated in a solar cooker, the temperature reached 60℃ in about 12 minutes and 95℃ in about 60 minutes under sunny conditions. The temperature of the canned coffee supplied by the hot vendor is around 60℃, which can be used to reheat the retorted pouches. In the same way, oshiruko(shiratame, oshiruko) and rice porridge(pregelatinized rice, steamed chicken, leek, water), which were adjusted to about 200g, were heated to 60℃ and were delicious. In the future, we will develop cooking containers for multiple people and develop the ability to cook in the oven and bake.
