Abstract

There are two cataloging rules in the Russian Socialist Federated. Soviet Rupublic; the one is for large libraries, and the other is for medium and small libraries. He summarises the important points in the Rules for small libraries, as follows:
 I. Main entry.
1. Choice of main entry.
 A. (1) Constitution, laws are entered under title.
   (2) Uniform title (for example: Arabian nights) is not used.
 B. Collection is entered under title, not under the editor.
 C. Joint authors. Two or three joint authors are recorded in the heading.
2. Form of heading.
 A. Personal author. Author who uses various names (real name, pseudonym, etc.) is entered under the best known farm.
 B. Corporate author. Latest name is not used.
 C. C. Change of title of the periodicals.
   Each title (new and old) is used in heading.
3. Description.
 A. Collection without collective title.
  (1) As A. L. A. rules 5. A. (2).
  (2) When only the title of first work is named in the title page, the other title is recorded in the notes.
 B. Works in the two or more volumes.
   Collation is not recorded.
 II. Added entry.
  Simplified form is used.
