Abstract

As the result of 1980's educational reforms,it becomes main theme that all schools promote student's ability of self-education,where the correspondence to informationlization is important aspect. This paper studies promotion of information literacy in school library instruction from the viewpoint of self-education. From this study,the follwings were found.
The ability of self-education is consist of an ability of problem-solving,self-leaning and information literacy. School library instruction to keep up with informationalization must totally nurtures those abilities. In promotion of information literacy as self-education,it is important that we nurture an ability of managing media,informational processing,critical thinking of information,and it is effective that we use the Taikeihyo of Japan School Library Association (JSLA) to do so.
