Abstract

The functional theory of library generally mean function of communication and educational function. The former is able to decide the general function of library existing beyond the frames of nation, society, and age, but there is a negative action which shut out the function artificialy. This is phenomenon of burning, inhibition, censorship of books.
This report aimo to discuss meaning, emerging form of the burning, inhibition, censorship of books not only from the bibliographical point of view but from the political and sociological point of view, and will point out how the action of anti-communication disturbs the function of library, how it damages the completness of service action to readers, how the innocence of it checks the liberty of reading for reader. And without recovering the function it is impossible to evade the one sideness of the communication theory.
